Majau is also a subdivision within the meranti family.
It is often regarded as the cheaper price variant of nemesu meranti. However, it exhibits similar properties, but it is less heavy and may differ in colour. The density will usually be between 630 and 670 kg/m³. This ensures that the wood can be regarded as solid and consistent. It will also show little movement. The colour is not always stable. For instance, majau can colour from pink-brown to dark red.
Majau is suitable for exterior joinery.
